SHEREE VICKERS
teaching ~ writing ~ performing
Sheree is a
very experienced drama facilitator, writer and
director with over 15 years experience in leading
groups of all ages and abilities. Aside from
training those interested in the acting
profession, she has also spent a great deal of
time working within the education system and
community, developing theatre projects with
people who might not always have access to the
arts.
Before becoming the founder and Artistic
Director of SAVVY
Theatre Company Sheree facilitated workshops for
London Bubble, Polka Theatre, the Shakespeare
Schools Festival, the Soho Theatre Writers
Festival, Mousetrap Theatre Projects and was the
Education Officer at Unicorn Theatre.
She has written numerous magazine articles and
teacher reference materials on her work within
the sector and is the author of several books
including the ACTIVE DRAMA PLAYSCRIPTS series,
DRAMA SCRIPTS FOR PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS and
THE STORIES WITHIN.
As an
actress Sheree has performed at festivals and
theatres around the world. Her unique skills have
been featured on V.GRAHAM NORTON, THE BIG
BREAKFAST and FUNNY BUSINESS for LWT. Aside from
touring theatres around Great Britain and working
the fringes in Canada, Sheree has also acted with
companies in London, the USA and with
Queensland's National Theatre Company in
Australia.
She
is continually developing her theatre practise
both with her own projects and in collaboration
with other companies, organisations and schools.
As SAVVY
Theatre's
Artistic Director most of her upcoming work is
with this company, however she
often employs other professional actors,
directors, costume designers, puppeteers,
choreographers etc... and is always keen to speak
to people interested in/involved with youth &
community work.
Sheree is a
trained Arts Award Advisor, qualified First Aider
